Purchased this item because of the advertised description, and because I wanted another pocket watch to add to my collection. The looks of the watch on the internet are better than the real thing. This is a heavy watch, it would be difficult to carry this around, its more for home display or work. The case is solid like a vault. It may be brass or some metal with a patena that makes it look like the days of old. The design is classic. The face of the watch is very nice. Although it would have been nice to have some documentation explaining the face and the dials. Otherwise, the reproduction is very complete. The outside decore is definitely defined as a reproduction. This watch will not fool anyone that it is anything other than just that. The painted look is to resemble I assume an enamel and the pearl decore looks intense. However, I don't know where the garnets are, unless the red dots that adorn the cover are the garnets, but thats just paint. I wish the artwork front and back was more like a hand painted portrait, but sadly it is not. If it were, it would make this watch look like a million (hence the three stars). I had purchase another watch along with this one and this to, is just a novelty watch. I would think the price is maybe a few dollars high, but on the other hand, I really can't complain on the price. I actually purchased this for my display case of other watches and it does contrast my other watches and compliments the small collection I have. This was a purchase of impulse, which you shouldn't do when it comes to a pocket watch. Also, if no one mentions the type of movement (such as quartz, swiss etc.) don't by the watch, unless it's just a casual show and tell item. This is not a serious collectors watch by any means. Just a little disappointed when it arrived. Plain gold foil box and some material lining. To me packaging and presentation is 50% of the purchase and makes a difference in marketing and customer recommendations. As always buyer beware and understand the purchase. Marketing and Sales is another term for Smoke and Mirros.

Catorex Men's 115.6.1074.110 Les Breuleux 18k Gold Plated Brass White Dial Pocket Watch Review

Overall I like this watch and hope to be able to get it fixed. As you might imagine from the discounted price, it has been on a shelf somewhere for quite awhile. Mine came in a pretty banged up box without an instruction manual, or certificate of authenticity. Amazon tried to get me a manual but wound up sending a generic thing for wrist watches. They told me it was authentic and would be warranted by Catorex.
The face plate has a small problem latching but catches OK if you miss the first time, BUT it loses about 1.5-2.0 min/day even when I keep it fully wound (forget the automatic feature). Which to my way of thinking does not approach Swiss precision. So I tried to contact Catorex. No can do. They are part of the Gervil group. They do not pick up the phone, so I tired to contact the Gervil group at the email they suggest: watchrepair@gervilgroup.com and still no answer after 3 weeks.
I'm beginning to think I have a cute knock-off that I paid quite a lot for.

My advice: You might consider leaving this one on the shelf at Amazon.
