My girlfriend wanted a nice dress watch for her birthday, so I began looking at mid-range brands such as Michael Kors, Fossil, Coach, etc. and came across this beautiful looking watch. I had handled several watches in this price range at a local department store and was fairly satisfied with how many of the $100-$150 watches were made. Upon receiving this watch, the first thing noticed was how cheap it felt. I did a quick search online and found that many of the reviewers had similar thoughts (I should have done more research before making a purchase). I figured with a name brand like this and the price higher than most of the nice watches I was looking at, I couldn't go wrong, right? Man was I wrong! This watch feels like its made of silver painted plastic. When holding the watch by the shell, I can move the bracelet about a quart-inch in either direction. The pieces rattle and creak just from holding the watch.. For most watches, the build quality and rigidity of the bracelet is a huge factor for me in determining the build quality. On top of the that, while many watches in or below this price range have nice, securing clasps that open and close with a push of a small button, this watch has none of that. The clasp literally snaps on to a horizontal bar and is held in place by the difference in the slightest variances in the size of the two connecting pieces. I can imagine that after many opening and closings that this connection would eventually loosen up and make the watch essentially unwearable. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed that this watch didn't live up to my expectations. I love the look of it and was sure my girlfriend would too, but at $200 the quality was flat out unacceptable. I'll be returning it and letting her pick out the one she likes.
