The title says it all. I am very taken with this watch. I wanted to take the plunge and put good money down on a watch with date that would be reliable, pretty, and long-lasting. I was interested in Citizen or Seiko, because these companies offer solar-powered watches that theoretically could last many many years without having to replace batteries. So far (one month) so good.

The mother-of-pearl face is subtly textured, where the rainbow colors are revealed better when NOT under full sunlight, surprisingly. I actually like that, because it's delightful to see flashes of green, pink, and silver appear and disappear as your wrist moves.

The watch features three hands, and a small box displaying the day of the month. I also like how only the 12 and 6 are written out, while the other numbers are silver "ticks." The band is also elegantly designed, with matte steel sandwiching polished steel, which provides a unique contrast. Well worth the $170 I paid for it, provided that the watch doesn't get banged up or stop working too soon.
